Help Us Build the Future of Human Resources at The Armstrong Company!
Are you an early-career HR professional who is tired of "learning on an island"? At The Armstrong Company, we believe the best way to grow is through a balance of expert mentorship and the independence to own your work. We are looking for a curious, service-oriented HR Generalist to join our team and build a world-class HR foundation.
Why You’ll Love This Role:This isn't just about filing paperwork; it's about the employee experience. You will be the face of our onboarding process, the guru of our HR systems (UKG), and a driving force behind our workplace culture. As you master the essentials, we’ll give you the autonomy to take on special projects that align with your personal interests and our business needs.
What You’ll Do:- Create "Welcome Home" Moments: Manage the end-to-end onboarding journey, from pre-employment screenings to helping build out a robust New Hire Orientation.
- Master the Tech: Keep our UKG system running smoothly by processing hires, transfers, and updates with precision.
- Be the Resource: Serve as the go-to person for employee questions, helping our team navigate benefits, records, and company policies.
- Recruitment Liaison: Support our recruitment efforts by keeping job postings active, screening resumes, and getting new hires ready for their first day.
- Culture & Connection: Help plan and deliver engagement activities that keep our Memphis Shared Services team connected and motivated.
- Compliance Champion: Support multi-state compliance and maintain the integrity of our employee records.
- A People Person: You are customer-focused and possess the "soft skills" and interpersonal warmth to handle sensitive employee needs.
- An Organizational Pro: You can multitask without breaking a sweat and have an eagle eye for detail.
- A Lifelong Learner: You have a bachelor’s degree (HR or Business preferred), about a year of HR experience, and a genuine curiosity that keeps you looking for ways to grow and know more.
- Tech Savvy: You’re comfortable with Microsoft Office and ready to dive deep into HRIS platforms.
