Human Resources Generalist Description JOB FUNCTION

Responsible for Human Resources functions including recruiting, career branding for Yamato Corporation’s North American offices in Grafton, Wisconsin, Lake Forest, California, and Mexico as well as remote employees. Assists with special projects and serves as back-up to Senior HR Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manage and coordinate the full recruitment lifecycle, from workforce planning and job posting through candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, offer, and onboarding, while ensuring all hiring practices comply with applicable state and federal employment laws.
  • Conduct proactive candidate sourcing to develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified talent.
  • Partner with hiring managers to create new job descriptions and review and update existing descriptions as needed.
  • Develop and maintain interview guides and resources to support consistent, effective, and legally compliant interviewing practices.
  • Represent the company at career fairs, recruiting events, and other talent acquisition activities.
Training & Development
  • Conduct new employee orientation in partnership with the Senior HR Manager to ensure a positive and consistent onboarding experience.
  • Partner with managers to develop effective onboarding plans for new hires and assist with coordinating employee meetings and onboarding activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to managers on effective, consistent, and legally compliant interviewing and selection practices.
Benefits Administration
  • Assist with benefits-related projects, including annual open enrollment and benefits renewal activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee benefits information in Employee Navigator.
  • Support employees and managers with benefits-related questions and administrative needs as appropriate.
Human Resources Administration
  • Assist in maintaining accurate, complete, and confidential employee records and personnel files.
  • Monitor and stay current on existing, new, and pending employment laws and regulations to support organizational compliance.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • Review and update the employee handbook and HR policies as needed to reflect organizational practices and legal requirements.
  • Provide general HR support to employees and managers while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
Special Projects
  • Assists with special company events & meetings, 401(k) investment & annual enrollment education sessions & holiday parties.
  • Company events to be planned quarterly.
