This position is a temp-to-hire position. You will be employed directly by a temporary agency before becoming a permanent GCI employee.
At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a HR Generalist, a typical day will include the following duties:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in administering human resources activities for assigned office, group, sector or section within a Division, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Assists in performing a variety of professional level tasks in multiple functional areas of HR, including benefits, compensation, recruiting, professional development, and employee relations.
- Assists in designing and running queries and preparing various reports as requested by management.
- Assists in facilitating new hire orientation sessions, and may prepare orientation packages.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant human resources procedures and practices, and relevant labor laws.
- Travel to company locations and client sites may be required.
- Participates in special projects as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 0 - 1 years of related human resources experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Effective administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn to make effective presentations to small and large groups of employees.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, which may include reporting and records requirements, as well as responding to audits.
