Manager, Graduate Employability & Career Insights

The Manager, Graduate Employability & Career Insights is responsible for driving graduate employment outcomes through strategic employer engagement, proactive job and internship development, effective use of graduate employment data, and strong portfolio management.

The role leads the development and management of employer relationships that create high-quality internship, work-based-learning (WBL), graduate employment and other career opportunities for Taylor's University students and graduates.

The Manager is responsible for translating employer and labour market intelligence into actionable strategies that improve graduate employability and employment outcomes. This includes building sustainable employer pipelines, monitoring graduate employment performance, strengthening data quality and analytics, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Career Services initiatives are aligned with institutional priorities.

The role also provides leadership and operational oversight to relevant Career Services team members, ensuring the effective delivery of services, efficient processes and achievement of agreed departmental and institutional KPIs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Employer Relations and Strategic Partnerships
  • Develop and implement strategies to build, strengthen and diversify the University's employer network.
  • Establish and manage strategic relationships with employers across priority industries and employment sectors.
  • Proactively secure high-quality opportunities for graduate employment, internships and WBL, industry projects and collaborations, and employer engagement activities.
  • Build and manage sustainable employer pipelines to support graduate employment and employability targets.
  • Maintain a structured employer portfolio and ensure regular engagement with key employers.
  • Understand employer recruitment needs, workforce trends and future talent requirements.
  • Develop mutually beneficial value propositions and engagement opportunities for employers and the University.
  • Improve the quality and relevance of opportunities available to students and graduates.
  • Maintain accurate employer engagement and partnership records.
  • Represent Career Services at employer meetings, networking sessions, industry events and professional forums
2. Graduate Employment and Placement Outcomes
  • Lead initiatives to improve graduate employment outcomes and achieve institutional KPIs.
  • Develop proactive strategies to increase access to high-quality employment opportunities.
  • Monitor employment performance and identify gaps requiring intervention.
  • Develop targeted initiatives for students and graduates requiring additional support.
  • Work with Career Advisors and relevant stakeholders to ensure students are adequately prepared for employment opportunities.
  • Track employer recruitment activity and conversion from opportunities to interviews, offers and employment.
  • Identify barriers affecting graduate employment and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Contribute to employment strategies for specialised student populations, including international and postgraduate students.
3. Internship, WBL and Experiential Learning
  • Work closely with faculties, academic staff and relevant departments to support the planning and delivery of internship and work-based learning activities.
  • Ensure sufficient internship and WBL opportunities are available to support student demand and programme requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and processes relating to internship and WBL.
  • Monitor internship and placement activities to ensure compliance with University requirements.
  • Identify and address gaps in internship and WBL supply, quality or student participation.
  • Gather employer and student feedback to improve the quality of internship and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective planning of internship and WBL cycles.
  • Track and report key internship and WBL outcomes, including participation, placement and satisfaction.
4. Data, Analytics and Graduate Employment Intelligence
  • Lead the collection, management and analysis of data relating to:
    • Graduate employment.
    • Job placements.
    • Internship and WBL placements.
    • Employer engagement.
    • Student participation and utilisation.
    • Employer and student satisfaction.
