Primary Purpose of Department

To provide Facilities Management with workforce development, organizational learning, and leadership development initiatives across the department.

Primary Purpose of Position

To provide strategic leadership for FM’s workforce development, organizational learning, talent pipeline, leadership development, and workforce planning initiatives. This position serves as FM’s lead for workforce development strategy, overseeing apprenticeship programs, leadership development initiatives, career pathways, and talent management systems that strengthen the department’s ability to recruit, develop, and retain a skilled workforce. This position directly supervises the Training Coordinator(s) and provides oversight of departmental learning and development programs.

The role exercises substantial independent judgment in workforce planning, program design, resource management, and organizational development initiatives.

Summary of Position Responsibilities

Leads Facilities Management’s workforce development, learning, talent pipeline, leadership development, and workforce planning programs. Designs, implements, and evaluates programs and systems that support employee development, career pathways, succession planning, recruitment, retention, and long-term workforce needs. The position oversees apprenticeship and leadership development programs and departmental learning initiatives. Independently manages program design, resource allocation, workforce planning, and initiatives that strengthen workforce capability and operational effectiveness.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one year of professional experience working in an educational setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Master’s degree in Education, or related field.
• Possess a high level of professionalism and work well in a demanding, dynamic job environment.
• Four years of professional experience working in the education field.
• Pay close attention to detail and be well-organized.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and be highly task-oriented.
• Demonstrated leadership in the field of education.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.
