Database Administration Specialist 3, Office of Database, PN

What You Will Do
  • High Availability Architecture: Design and configure cluster nodes, standby servers, log shipping, and replication to ensure maximum system uptime.
  • BI & Data Warehousing: Manage ETL processes (utilizing SSIS for SQL Server) to replicate and transform data while monitoring warehouse data loads.
  • Performance Optimization: Tune system configurations and data manipulation models across multiple platforms to ensure efficiency.
  • Standards & Security: Establish data exchange standards, define security models, and maintain technical documentation for installation and monitoring.
  • Strategy & Mentorship: Create database strategies that support business needs and provide technical mentorship to peers.

Qualifications
  • 60 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and implementing high availability solutions, performing solutions design, providing technical Tier III database support, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to design, implementation, operation and ongoing maintenance of databases systems including 12 months work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
  • – Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 42 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and implementing high availability solutions, performing solutions design, providing technical Tier III database support, developing project plans with project manager or recommending approach through defining tasks and/or leading meetings relating to design, implementation, operation and ongoing maintenance of databases systems including 12 months work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
