Job Overview
Information Technology Specialist – Larue County Middle School. Reports to the Chief Information Officer.
Responsibilities- Organize, operate, and maintain computing devices; assist faculty and staff with equipment operation and application software.
- Maintain and support school related databases required for computer applications.
- Maintain student and staff accounts for network access and software applications.
- Provide informal and formal training to students and staff; assist with the creation and production of training materials.
- Maintain computer equipment; troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
- Assist District and school staff with evaluation of software.
- Maintain a hardware and software inventory and maintenance records for the school's technology.
- Maintain a clean and orderly computer environment as well as any technology throughout the school.
- Assist in school web page design and function.
- Advise the Chief Information Officer on evaluation and attendance.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Chief Information Officer and Superintendent.
- Assist and approve purchasing of any technology related items.
- Ensure technology purchases that warrant commodity codes are identified and coded.
- Provide invoicing for technology damages as needed.
- Oversee and maintain tech students during their assigned times at the school.
- Maintain parts inventory, ordering of parts, and repairs as needed.
- Support staff in use and assist access of copiers and printing devices.
- Support parents and community with school related technology.
- Stay current on technology solutions and attend technology based conferences.
- Participate in weekly and monthly technical meetings.
- Support STLP and other technology based programs.
- Support Chief Information Officer in implementation and support of technology plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
Seldom/Rare:
Occasional (up to 1/3 of work day);
Frequent (1/3 to 2/3 of work day);
Repetitive (2/3 or more of work day).
- High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
