Job Overview

Information Technology Specialist – Larue County Middle School. Reports to the Chief Information Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Organize, operate, and maintain computing devices; assist faculty and staff with equipment operation and application software.
  • Maintain and support school related databases required for computer applications.
  • Maintain student and staff accounts for network access and software applications.
  • Provide informal and formal training to students and staff; assist with the creation and production of training materials.
  • Maintain computer equipment; troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Assist District and school staff with evaluation of software.
  • Maintain a hardware and software inventory and maintenance records for the school's technology.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly computer environment as well as any technology throughout the school.
  • Assist in school web page design and function.
  • Advise the Chief Information Officer on evaluation and attendance.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Chief Information Officer and Superintendent.
  • Assist and approve purchasing of any technology related items.
  • Ensure technology purchases that warrant commodity codes are identified and coded.
  • Provide invoicing for technology damages as needed.
  • Oversee and maintain tech students during their assigned times at the school.
  • Maintain parts inventory, ordering of parts, and repairs as needed.
  • Support staff in use and assist access of copiers and printing devices.
  • Support parents and community with school related technology.
  • Stay current on technology solutions and attend technology based conferences.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly technical meetings.
  • Support STLP and other technology based programs.
  • Support Chief Information Officer in implementation and support of technology plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands

Seldom/Rare:
Occasional (up to 1/3 of work day);
Frequent (1/3 to 2/3 of work day);
Repetitive (2/3 or more of work day).

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
