Role Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and committed Desktop Support Technician for a position at a correctional facility. The ideal candidate will possess a high aptitude for customer service and have experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of devices in a Windows-based environment. This role involves providing technical support for approximately 275 devices and may require interaction with inmates who are part of work details.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide installation, troubleshooting, and repair for desktop computers and related devices in a Windows environment.
• Assist with the maintenance and support of security cameras, servers, and network switches as needed.
• Deliver technical support to Department of Corrections (DOC) staff within the correctional complex.
• Maintain accurate records of support activities and resolutions.
• Adhere to all facility protocols and procedures while working within a prison atmosphere.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Desktop Support or a similar technical support role is required.

Technical

Skills:

Proficiency in supporting a Windows-based environment, including hardware and software troubleshooting, is necessary.

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work in uncomfortable positions for extended periods. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license. The role is based within a correctional facility, and the selected candidate will be required to pass an extensive background check and drug test. Mandatory training, which can last up to three weeks, will be provided to equip the technician to work effectively and conduct themselves appropriately in a prison environment.
