AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Expert reviewers evaluate model outputs, identify weaknesses, and create high-quality examples that help AI systems become more accurate, useful, and contextually relevant.
In this role, your chemistry knowledge will directly support the development of models that can reason through scientific questions and explain complex concepts clearly.

Open Train AI is seeking an expert Chemistry AI Training Reviewer to evaluate model responses and reasoning in chemistry. You will assess step-by-step problem solving, fact-check chemical information, identify errors, and write accurate explanations and model solutions.
This is a part-time contractor opportunity requiring 20 or more hours per week. The pay rate is $70 USD per hour.

You will assess whether chemistry answers are correct, clear, and responsive to the prompt. Your feedback will help improve model accuracy, fluency, reasoning quality, and contextual relevance.
- Review chemistry answers for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the prompt
- Evaluate reasoning quality and step-by-step problem solving
- Identify calculation, methodology, and conceptual errors
- Fact-check chemical information
- Write strong chemical explanations and model solutions
- Rate and compare multiple AI responses
- Explain corrections clearly in written English
- Assess reasoning involving stoichiometry and equilibrium
This role requires deep chemistry expertise and the ability to communicate technical corrections precisely. A graduate-level academic background is required, along with strong written English and the ability to evaluate scientific reasoning.
- MS or PhD in Chemistry or a related field
- Strong command of chemical reactions, stoichiometry, organic mechanisms, analytical methods, and physical or quantum chemistry
- Deep knowledge of chemistry reasoning, including stoichiometry and equilibrium
- Ability to spot calculation, methodology, and conceptual errors
- Excellent English writing skills
- Experience evaluating AI-generated scientific or technical answers
- Research, analytical writing, debate, programming, or chemistry background preferred
- Familiarity with data labeling, RLHF, or AI model evaluation is a plus
