JOB SUMMARY:Wallowa Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced, service-oriented ITS Senior Help Desk Specialist to join our Information & Technology Services team. In this role, you will serve as a first line of technical support for physicians and hospital staff, providing responsive and professional assistance with computer systems, software applications, network connectivity, printers, peripherals and other technology needs.
The ITS Senior Help Desk Specialist provides technical support in person and by phone, email and remote access while effectively prioritizing competing needs in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position supports a complex technology infrastructure and plays an important role in ensuring our staff have the reliable systems and technical resources needed to provide premier patient care.
Responsibilities Include:- Responding to phone calls, emails and support tickets to troubleshoot and resolve end-user technology issues
- Configuring, deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting desktop and laptop computers, tablets, smartphones, printers and other peripherals
- Managing and supporting Microsoft O365, Exchange Online, Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, .NET and IIS
- Configuring and troubleshooting wired and wireless network connections, remote access and VPN connections
- Performing computer hardware repairs, upgrades, imaging, software deployment and security patching
- Providing technical support for the Providence Epic EMR system, including local computers, peripherals and network connectivity
- Utilizing Epic reporting tools and developing custom reports and dashboards as needed
- Working collaboratively with Informatics to support end-user Epic issues and submit Providence technical support tickets
- Installing and maintaining antivirus and malware protection and addressing identified security threats
- Supporting Avaya telephone systems, including analog, digital and VOIP technologies
- Maintaining accurate technical support documentation and hardware and software inventories
- Providing basic computer and software training to users as needed
- Participating in an after-hours and weekend on-call rotation
- Assisting the ITS Director and Network Systems Administrator with additional technology needs and projects as assigned
- Prior advanced technical support experience in the healthcare industry preferred
- Five (5) years of current demonstrated skills and experience providing technical support in a large corporate environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office, O365 and Exchange Online environments
- Experience configuring, deploying and troubleshooting computers and servers in a Windows Active Directory environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of PC hardware, software, printers, scanners and other peripheral devices
- Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows Servers in a VMware vSphere virtual environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, TCP/IP, .NET, IIS, batch files and scripting
- Experience with computer imaging, remote deployment and centralized patch management
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks, mobile devices and network peripherals
- Knowledge of virus and malware prevention, detection and removal
- Understanding of analog, digital and VOIP telephone systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users
- Excellent organizational skills and consistent attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to participate in an after-hours/weekend on-call rotation with a maximum on-site response time of twenty (20) minutes
- Ability to meet the physical and functional requirements outlined in the job description, including lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds
- Successful completion of criminal background check, drug screening and reference checks
