IT Consultant, IT Business Analyst
Extropy Advisors is a finance transformation consultancy that has rebuilt itself as an AI-native implementation firm. Founded in 2014, we help organizations modernize their Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash operations - and we practice what we preach. Our own delivery runs on AIDA, our internal AI operating system of agents and skills layered across our entire toolset, and we bring that same way of working to every client engagement.
We are a boutique, practitioner-led firm of roughly 50 people organized in small cross-functional delivery teams. Our proprietary FORWARD methodology and 5A Signature Process (Assess, Architect, Activate, Adopt, Advance) guide every engagement. We are people-first, direct, and hands-on.
People-first is not a slogan here - it is a system. Every person at Extropy has a quarterly scorecard and growth plan tied to real compensation upside, reviewed with leadership every quarter. And you will not be figuring things out alone: you will learn directly from architects and senior consultants who have led dozens of enterprise Basware implementations for national healthcare systems, global manufacturers, and Am Law 100 firms.
The RoleWe are looking for a consultant the team can hand real work to. You will own work streams end to end on live P2P and O2C automation engagements - configuration, testing, documentation, and working sessions with client counterparts - delivering reliably every sprint with limited oversight. You will take on complex challenges alongside a senior consultant or architect, and you will work AI-natively from day one, using our agents and tooling as part of normal delivery, not as an afterthought.
This role is a deliberate launchpad. The gap between this level and our Senior Solution Consultant bar is a published, structured growth roadmap - and your quarterly growth plan is built to close it. If you want to become the consultant clients ask for by name, in a firm that is redefining what implementation looks like in the AI era, this is where that starts.
What You Will DoDelivery & Client Collaboration
- Own work streams end to end within an engagement - for example, a set of configuration rules, a testing cycle, or a supplier onboarding batch - and deliver them on time and to quality.
- Run working sessions with client AP, finance, and IT contacts on your own topics.
- Keep the team and client informed proactively with clear status updates and issue summaries - without being chased.
- Flag scope, data, and timeline risks early, before they affect the plan.
- Use AIDA agents and internal AI tooling as part of normal daily delivery - configuration analysis, documentation, and data work on live tasks.
- Learn which skill or command fits which task and reach for them by default.
- Give clear feedback when a skill falls short, and suggest tasks that a new or improved skill could handle - you are a confident user on the path to contributor.
- Build and test configuration that meets requirements and holds up in review with few rework cycles.
- Apply the firm's templates, standards, and best practices consistently rather than reinventing them.
- Document your work clearly - handover notes and runbooks a teammate can follow.
- Learn to spot edge cases and pitfalls in your own testing before they reach the client.
- Work through standard functional and technical problems without step-by-step direction.
- Take on complex integration and exception scenarios with guidance from a senior consultant or architect, and run parts of them solo.
- Come to a blocker with options and a recommendation, not just the problem.
- Trace recurring errors to their source and fix the cause, not just the symptom.
We level this role against five dimensions:
Impact, Complexity & Independence, Craftsmanship, Collaboration & Communication, and AI-Native Delivery. At this level, the bar is showing these consistently on your own work: delivering your committed scope reliably every quarter, solving well-defined problems independently, and taking on the hard ones with support. Your quarterly scorecard and growth plan are built on this same framework - and the senior definition sits one step up the same ladder, so you always know exactly what growth looks like.
Experience
- 3-5 years delivering P2P, AP, O2C, or AR automation solutions in a consulting, implementation, or delivery role.
- Hands-on configuration and testing experience on at least one AP/AR or P2P platform.
- Experience working directly with client contacts - running working calls, gathering requirements, or supporting UAT.
- Evidence of ownership: a workstream you ran end to end, a risk you caught early, or a recurring problem you traced to its root cause.
- Solid understanding of Procure-to-Pay and/or Order-to-Cash workflows, including AP/AR automation concepts and ERP integration basics.
- Configuration experience in one or more platforms (e.g., Basware, Coupa, Ariba, Esker, Tradeshift,…
