The School of Global Health Management and Informatics (SGHMI):
The School of Global Health Management and Informatics (SGHMI) prepares the next generation of healthcare leaders through innovative, interdisciplinary education in healthcare management and informatics. Located at UCF Downtown, SGHMI partners with major healthcare organizations to provide students with hands‑on learning experiences that foster leadership, innovation, and career readiness.

Opportunity:
Join the School of Global Health Management and Informatics (SGHMI) at UCF Downtown and help support the technology that drives student success. This position provides front‑line and advanced technical support to students by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, supporting specialized academic applications, and ensuring reliable access to university technology. The role also contributes to knowledge management, user education, and IT service delivery while following UCF IT standards and best practices.

Computer Operations Specialist III

Responsibilities
  • Provide support for School of Global Health Management and Informatics (SGHMI) Students at the UCF Downtown Campus.
  • Support includes specific application support, SQL, Visio, Project, True Code, access and identity management, and other applications related to the program.
  • Diagnose and repair complex hardware and software issues escalated by technicians.
  • Use electronic and networking testing equipment to diagnose computer equipment problems.
  • Troubleshoot network issues.
  • Assist in creating knowledge base articles to document solutions, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide client education on how to use equipment, software, and university systems.
  • Contact vendors for troubleshooting issues.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures from UCF IT and the Infrastructure department to perform:
    Change Management, Request Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management functions within Service Now.
  • Works to meet service level targets to ensure a high level of service delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing technical support for computer hardware, software applications, operating systems, and peripheral devices.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, network connectivity, and end-user computing issues.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, True Code, and other specialized academic or enterprise software applications.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and identity and access management principles, including user provisioning and access control.
  • Previous experience working with students in higher education.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to users of varying technical backgrounds.
