We are looking for a hands‑on Infrastructure & IT Systems Engineer to own and improve the IT systems and automation that support CI's research and company operations, then grow into broader ownership of our engineering platform and infrastructure. The scope includes identity and access management, endpoint and SaaS systems, our AWS environment, research compute, CI/CD, production applications, and employee IT support.

CI is an AI‑first company, and this is an AI‑first role. We want you to use automation to reduce repetitive work across IT and infrastructure, especially in access workflows, endpoint management, employee IT support, and routine service operations. When automation is not enough, you will help directly with access and SSH problems, endpoints, office systems, and laboratory computers.

You will have broad responsibility for these systems, including day‑to‑day support and longer‑term improvements. You do not need to arrive ready to own every part of our infrastructure: you will take ownership of our AWS environment through a structured handoff over your first three to six months.

• Improve the IT systems and automation that support our research and company operations. Simplify fragile processes, eliminate repetitive work, and introduce reliable self‑service where it is useful.

• Administer identity and access management, email, collaboration, source‑control, and other SaaS platforms with least‑privilege access and reliable audit trails.

• Manage device security, inventory, and provisioning for our Mac and Windows fleet.

• Maintain and improve our AI‑assisted IT support system. An internal agent takes employee requests (accounts, access, software, troubleshooting) from chat, resolves routine ones automatically, and escalates the rest to you. Keep its integrations with our identity, device‑management, and SaaS platforms, review its automated actions, and add new automated resolutions as recurring request patterns emerge.

• Automate account, device, and access provisioning and deprovisioning so onboarding and offboarding are reliable.

• Help with user, access, connectivity, endpoint, office, and laboratory‑computer issues when automation or self‑service is not enough.

• Document processes for IT migrations, security awareness, equipment requests, and procurement handoffs so routine work does not depend on individual memory.

• Operate and improve our AWS environment, including networking, IAM, infrastructure as code, reliability, storage, backups, and cost management. You will take full ownership through a structured handoff over your first three to six months.

• Support the GPU and Slurm workloads and shared Linux hosts used by our researchers.

• Keep production applications and research services reliable by improving observability, deployment safety, incident response, and recovery.
