Position Overview:
At M2SC, we are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Configuration Manager to lead the configuration and change management processes for enterprise systems supporting a classified Department of Defense (DoD) mission. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in managing system baselines, maintaining technical documentation, ensuring adherence to DoD standards (including the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and facilitating traceability and audit readiness across mission systems.

Job Description
- Interface with government stakeholders, program managers, and technical staff
- Develop and maintain Configuration Management (CM) plans, policies, and procedures in compliance with DoD regulations and contract requirements.
- Manage all aspects of configuration control, including change requests (CRs), engineering change proposals (ECPs), and baseline management.
- Maintain and update Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs), inventories, and system documentation.
- Participate in technical and program-level change control boards (CCBs), reviewing and approving all change packages.
- Establish configuration identification, control, status accounting, and auditing standards.
- Track software and hardware configurations for compliance with cybersecurity policies, RMF packages, and security accreditation boundaries
- Interface with cybersecurity, system engineering, and logistics teams to ensure traceability across system components
- Support inspections and audits by government stakeholders (e.g., DoD IG, RMF assessors)
- Ensure version control, release management, and documentation accuracy for mission-critical systems.
- Utilize tools such as Service Now, Remedy, SharePoint, Git, and CMPro to manage CM artifacts.
- Support contingency operations, exercises, and on-call rotations to maintain network continuity for mission-critical DoD services.
- Active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligible preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in configuration management roles within DoD or federal environments
- CompTIA Security+ CE (DoD 8570 IAT Level II)
- ITIL Foundation, CMII, or PMP
- Demonstrated experience supporting classified programs and federal IT environments
- Strong understanding of DoD CM standards, including MIL-HDBK-61, DoD 5010.12-M, and relevant NIST guidelines
- Experience supporting classified systems in a DoD or federal environment
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops environments, CI/CD pipelines, and software version control systems
- Knowledge of Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and DoDAF frameworks
- Working knowledge of DISA systems, networks, and cyber compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management environment
