We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team and lead the management of our multi-cloud environment, which includes AWS, GCP, Azure, and Snowflake. This is a high-impact role that involves close collaboration with Architects and Cloud Engineers across the IT department.
You will be responsible for overseeing the evolution of Slalom’s multi-cloud infrastructure, ensuring that operations are secure, efficient, and cost-effective. Additionally, you will mentor the Infrastructure Operations team to support Tier I/II escalations.
This role is responsible for upholding infrastructure standards, contributing to design principles, and driving technical initiatives that shape the future of Slalom’s global cloud infrastructure.
What You’ll Do:Cloud Platform Management and Excellence
- Manage and optimize cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake.
- Maintain Compliance baseline across all clouds.
- Drive cost optimization by identifying and removing unused resources, managing reserved instances, and establishing monitoring for critical cloud services.
- Provision AWS accounts; apply guardrails via SCPs, IAM, and Identity Center.
- Design and enforce IAM/RBAC across all platforms using least-privilege principles
- Implement IAM roles and policies for Cloud Access and Configure SSO
- Collaborate with the Infosec team to integrate monitoring and security tools (e.g., Logic Monitor , Cyera, Rapid7).
- Partner with enterprise and infrastructure architects to translate designs into scalable cloud implementations.
- Contribute to architectural decisions that shape Slalom’s infrastructure roadmap.
- Create and maintain comprehensive runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation.
- Mentor Infrastructure Operations engineers and support escalation resolution.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to align infrastructure with business objectives.
Core Expertise
- AWS :
Strong experience with core services (EC2, S3, API Gateway, Route 53, IAM, AWS Backup, and basic networking/security resources like ENI, subnets, load balancers, VPC, security groups). - Cost Management :
Proficiency in tagging strategies, budgets, CUR analysis, and savings optimizations. - Automation :
Skilled in AWS CLI, Power Shell, Bash, Python, or Go. - Multi-Cloud Fluency :
Hands‑on experience in AWS is required; experience in Azure ,GCP or Snowflake is a plus. - Engineering Practices :
Proficient in version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Bitbucket, Git Hub, Azure Dev Ops). Experience with pull request workflows, branching, and code reviews is advantageous.
- Troubleshooting :
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across cloud stacks. - Documentation & Communication :
Strong technical writing skills and a collaborative mindset. - Monitoring Integration :
Experience with telemetry platforms is preferred.
