At Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB), wedon'tjust provide water and electricity – we deliver essential services that are vital to the community. We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage andmaintainMSSQL and Oracle databases supporting critical utility operations. This isan important position that helps keep EWEB running.
As a Database Administrator at EWEB, you willbe responsible for ensuring database performance, security, availability, and scalability across diverse environments.
Additional responsibilities include implementing backup and recovery strategies,optimizing queries, and supporting application teams. This role plays a key part in sustaining the integrity of enterprise data systems for a mission-critical public utility.
- Design, developandmaintainenterprisedatabases including creating data structures and conceptual models to meet business requirements.
- Organize, analyze, archive, andmaintaindata and data structures in Microsoft SQL and Oracle database systems.
- Ensure availability, reliability, capacity, and effectiveutilizationof database resources.
- Install, test,update and troubleshoot databases and dataintegrationsusingindustry standard toolsand techniques.
- Identify and resolve database, application integration, and system performance issues.
- Provide support to developers, application administrators, and vendors as appropriate.
- Ensure data security,backup, recovery, and continuity of service for databases.
- Create andmaintainconfiguration documents and work as a team to support operations.
- Consult with technical business users to understand their requirements for data management and translate those into trackable tasks forIT teams to execute.
- A work history of applied technical knowledge andskills in database design, performance management,troubleshooting and administration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical issues,identify root causes,and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Ability to workeffectivelywithbusiness and technical partners to deliver data management solutions toa diverse organization with varying technical skills.
- Strong writing skills which enable you tocreate andmaintaincleartechnicaldocumentsincluding architecture, processes, and implemented configurations with strong attention to detail.
- A passionfortechnology,problem solving, and data integrity.
Location: This position is based in Eugene, Oregon; ithas been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working onsite. The selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon.
The starting annual salary for this position is $to$ commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.

Consistent with EWEB’s compensation philosophy, it is not customary to place individuals at the high end of the salary range at the time of hire.
