Infrastructure Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Administrator for a 12-month contract position in Dallas, Texas. This role will manage, maintain, and modernize enterprise infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of infrastructure supporting critical business operations and will drive infrastructure modernization initiatives.

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premise server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux servers.
• Manage and configure network components, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
• Implement and manage firewall rule configurations to maintain a secure network environment.
• Monitor and maintain system health, ensuring high availability and performance of critical resources.
• Perform server operating system upgrades and manage vendor patching.
• Collaborate with the IT team to design, implement, and maintain virtualized environments using VMware.
• Administer and support hybrid cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, Azure, and related cloud services.
• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure, networking, security controls, and monitoring solutions.
• Develop and implement automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to streamline system administration and provisioning tasks.
• Perform routine system audits, updates, and patches to ensure systems remain compliant with security and operational standards.
• Respond to and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, providing excellent user support.
• Document system configurations, procedures, architecture diagrams, and operational changes accurately.
• Administer and manage Active Directory (AD) and domain controllers, ensuring proper configuration and maintenance.
• Create and manage Group Policies (GPOs) to enforce security and compliance requirements.
• Administer and manage firewalls, including Sonic Wall and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Manage enterprise storage solutions including Isilon, Vblock, VxRail, Data Domain, and Avamar.
• Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring the timely procurement of IT resources and services.
• Lead and participate in infrastructure and cloud migration projects, ensuring project milestones and deliverables are met.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and users to provide clear updates and technical support.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, reports, architecture diagrams, and project updates.

• Required
  • 7+ years of experience as a System Administrator, Infrastructure Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
  • Strong expertise supporting enterprise on-premises infrastructure, including Windows Server and Linux.
  • Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or equivalent cloud technologies.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting hybrid infrastructure solutions that integrate on-premises systems with cloud services.
• Preferred
  • Deep expertise in VMware virtualization.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience in vendor management and project delivery.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
