The Hart County Charter System is hiring for a Computer Technician position

Reports To Director of Technology

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software, and peripheral devices.
Ability to diagnose and resolve common hardware, software, connectivity, and user-account issues.
Strong verbal, written, telephone, and customer-service communication skills.
Ability to organize work, document service activities, manage priorities, and work independently.
Previous technical-support experience and relevant industry certifications preferred.
Experience supporting technology in a K-12 educational environment preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computers, Chromebooks, peripherals, and other district technology equipment.

2. Provide timely technical support to faculty, staff, and students for hardware, software, operating systems, applications, and connectivity issues.

3. Respond to and document support requests through the district technology support and ticketing system.

4. Deploy and maintain district-approved software, applications, operating systems, and device configurations.

5. Assist with the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of classroom instructional technology, printers, audiovisual equipment, and other technology systems.

6. Assist with basic wired and wireless network troubleshooting under the direction of Technology Department leadership.

7. Maintain accurate inventory, assignment, repair, service, and disposition records for district technology assets.

8. Diagnose equipment failures and perform or coordinate repairs and replacements as appropriate.

9. Follow district cybersecurity, data privacy, acceptable-use, and technology-security procedures.

10. Assist with user accounts, passwords, access, and other technology services within assigned permissions.

11. Support technology projects, deployments, upgrades, and other departmental initiatives.

12. Communicate effectively with users regarding problem status, resolution, and appropriate use of technology.

13. Escalate problems requiring advanced technical or administrative intervention to the appropriate Technology Department staff.

14. Maintain current knowledge of technologies and practices relevant to assigned responsibilities.

19. Work cooperatively with Technology Department staff, school personnel, and other departments and adapt to changing priorities.

20. Participate in relevant training and professional development and apply acquired knowledge to assigned responsibilities.

21. Perform other duties and responsibilities consistent with the position as assigned by the supervisor.
