The impact you will have: Technology plays a vital role in enhancing teaching and learning across our schools. As a Technology Services Coordinator, you will be the primary point of contact for supporting the technology needs of students and staff at a secondary school site. Your role is essential in ensuring smooth day-to-day tech operations—including troubleshooting issues, maintaining equipment, delivering training, setting up for events, and proactively addressing site-based technology needs.

As a Technology Services Coordinator , you will be assisting with Technology Services Coordinator operations and be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Manages San José Unified technology, devices, accessories, and applications at assigned site/s, ensuring appropriate storage, use, and maintenance
  • Collaborates with staff and students to support teaching and learning with technology, providing training and building technology skills as appropriate
  • Identifies, researches, troubleshoots, and resolves technical problems related to software and hardware from tier-1 to tier-2
  • Installs, configures, and supports San José Unified-approved technology according to established procedures, including but not limited to computers, operating systems, mobile devices, and network devices
  • Assists with creating and maintaining technical documentation and user tutorials
  • Maintains clean, organized, and safe client technology environments for staff, students, and San José Unified events

What you need for this position:

  • Completion of 12th grade or equivalent, or any combination of education, experience, and training that meets the knowledge, skills and abilities describe in the job description
  • Resume and Letter of Introduction outlining desire and qualifications for this position
  • At least one year of work experience in a related environment preferred (see job description)
  • Valid California Driver's License

SB 848 Child Safety & Employment Disclosure Requirement

Effective January 1, 2026, in accordance with California Senate Bill 848 (School Employee Misconduct/Child Abuse Prevention Act), applicants for employment with San José Unified are subject to enhanced child safety, training, and employment disclosure requirements.

Under SB 848, schools are required to strengthen background vetting procedures and obtain employment history information related to allegations of egregious misconduct involving students. Former employers may be contacted to release records regarding substantiated findings of misconduct as permitted by law. Failure to provide complete and accurate information regarding prior educational employment or relevant misconduct findings may result in disqualification from the hiring process or withdrawal of an offer of employment.

SB 848 also expands mandated reporter requirements and requires annual child abuse prevention training for employees and certain volunteers by July 1, 2026. All employees must comply with district-adopted child safety policies, including procedures for supervising and protecting students.
