ABA Insurance Services Inc., a division of Great American, has been a market-leading provider of professional liability, bond and P&C coverage for financial institutions for over 35 years, as well as EPLI and cyber for small businesses and D&O for nonprofit organizations. Insurance Services is currently seeking an Underwriting Trainee. The position is based out of the Shaker Heights, OH office.

** Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
*** Evaluate and analyze insurance submissions to identify exposures, assess risk, and support underwriting decisions.
* Prepare quotes, renewals, endorsements, and other underwriting transactions while maintaining quality and service standards.
* Collaborate with agents, brokers, and internal partners to gather information and provide underwriting guidance.
* Develop expertise in underwriting guidelines, coverage forms, pricing methodology, and risk selection.
* Utilize data, technology, and underwriting tools to support decision-making and portfolio management.
* Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with underwriting, regulatory, and company requirements.
* Support profitable growth through strong customer relationships and responsive service.
* Participate in training, continuous improvement initiatives, and special projects.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
** Job Requirements
*** Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
