Underwriter, Risk Manager/Analyst

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Underwriting Consultant who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment. This fully remote role is ideal for a self-motivated underwriting professional who enjoys analyzing complex risks, partnering with internal and external stakeholders, and sharing expertise with colleagues. While remote, the position requires active daily engagement with team members and business partners to support collaboration, consistency, and business results.
The position also serves as a technical resource for other underwriters, helping to develop talent, improve processes, and support departmental initiatives. Amynta Risk Solutions provides specialized insurance and risk management solutions that help employers manage healthcare costs through innovative Medical Stop Loss coverage. We are committed to delivering strong underwriting expertise, responsive service, and collaborative partnerships with brokers, consultants, and customers nationwide.
- Review and evaluate new and existing business within assigned authority levels.
- Make sound underwriting decisions that support profitable growth and customer retention.
- Partner with sales/service teams on products & plan designs that best meet customer needs.
- Analyze complex risks and ensure underwriting guidelines and profitability targets are met.
- Monitor and identify risk trends and recommend solutions when concerns arise.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
- Provide accurate, timely, and dependable service.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced underwriters.
- Share technical expertise and provide coaching on underwriting decisions.
- Participate in process improvement efforts and recommend workflow efficiencies.
- Support the development of underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain a strong understanding of company products, market conditions, and industry trends.
- Understand the financial impact of underwriting decisions on business performance.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Seven or more years of underwriting or related insurance experience.
- Proven experience handling complex underwriting decisions.
- Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk, pricing, plan design, and policy provisions.
- Understanding of financial and business performance goals.
- Knowledge of sales and distribution channels and market trends.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify trends and develop practical solutions.
- Effective coaching and mentoring skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building abilities.
