To inspect cargo damaged in transit and determine the nature, cause, and extent of damages; to review documents to determine when the cargo was damaged; and to provide written reports to underwriters and other parties with his/her qualified opinion as to the cause of loss.

• Oversees loading and unloading of cargo from ships and other forms of transit to document damages as they are loaded and/or unloaded.
• Inspects damaged ships to determine cause of the damage and amount of damage resulting from collisions or motor failures.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports the organization’s quality program(s).
• Travels as required.

• Education & Licensing:
  Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Skills & Knowledge:
  Good oral and written communication skills PC literate, including Microsoft Office products Good customer service skills Good organizational skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.

Have the ability to: climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and reaching/working overhead. Be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds. Be able to drive up to 4 hours per day.

For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $70-100k.
