Overview

The Premium Technical Underwriter will partner with AmTrust Excess & Surplus Lines Division (E&S) as well as AmTrust Premium Audit and Billing Departments and the E&S Agents to assist with the procurement, processing, issuance and ultimately the billing and collection of all AmTrust E&S premium audits. They will work in conjunction with the above functions to identify and resolve any issues occurring during the process and work to meet and maintain all applicable processing standards throughout the life cycle of the premium audit, policy endorsement and premium audit billing function.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with AmTrust Excess & Surplus Lines (E&S) division to establish policies and procedures for end to end of processing of all E&S premium audits.
  • Assist with any rating related questions on final audits and coordinate with Premium Audit, Operations and E&S underwriting in an effort to rate, process and issue the final E&S audits based on final audited exposures.
  • Assist Premium Audit, Operations, E&S underwriting and its agents in resolving any uncooperative or unproductive audits.
  • Where needed, assist with the negotiation of any final premium audits so that they can be processed and invoiced to the agent or insured.
  • Work to clarify any rating questions or uncertainties to help bring to conclusion the final premium audit endorsements.
  • Assist E&S Underwriting, its agents and AmTrust Billing with implementing any negotiated payment terms on final audits.
  • When necessary, follow up with agents on any outstanding and overdue audit premiums, and assist in resolving any obstacles in the collection process.
  • Assist with any with mid-term policy cancellations as necessary.
  • Participate in projects/assignments as requested and provide other information as needed for regulatory and compliance related obligations or filings.
Qualifications

Skills:

  • Displays good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with both internal and external customers and clients.
  • Possesses good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to decide when and which communication channel will be most effective in producing desired result.
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, and other Microsoft processing software tools.
  • Ability and willingness to manage tasks both large and small, visible and not visible in order to get the work completed thoroughly and on-time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Two or more years insurance experience related to rate, quote, and issuance of P&C Insurance is preferred.

The expected salary range for this role is $58,500-$68,000/year.
