A Property Claim Representative is responsible for handling insurance claims filed by policyholders and inspecting damages reported by policyholders.
Essential Functions- Investigate claims and obtain relevant facts to determine coverage.
- Write and obtain an agreed estimate of damages when coverage is available.
- Document claim file activities in accurate and timely manner.
- Interact effectively with customers, insurance agents, contractors and other personnel involved in the claims process.
- Strong written and oral communication
- Sustain a strong knowledge of Microsoft products and basic computer functions
- Capable of fostering partnership in a fast paced environment
- Maintain strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to use logic and to think analytically
- Valid Driver’s License
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2-5 years of prior experience in the insurance or construction industry
The physical work environment for this position involves sitting in an office setting communicating with others face-to-face, electronically and by telephone. It also involves driving to claims sites and investigating, which may include climbing a ladder, walking on a roof and using stairs among other things. Overtime may be required for this position if requested by a supervisor in order to complete a certain given task in a timely manner.
