American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter

Job Description

Cedar Ridge School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter
to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The following are essential duties for this position:

• Interpret oral communication into sign language in classes
• Facilitate communication among students, classroom teachers, and other personnel in the school district.
• Convey the content of the message clearly and accurately according to the receptive language level of the student.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Previous educational interpreting preferred

Must hold a valid interpreter’s license issued by the Arkansas Department of Health;

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; and

Hold at least a:

3.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA); or

Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) 3/3 (transliterating /interpreting).
