American Sign Language Interpreter (Community & Educational)

Purpose of Job:

We are seeking skilled American Sign Language Interpreters to join our team in two key roles:
Community Interpreting and Educational Interpreting. Both candidates will provide sign language interpreting services to individuals throughout Northern Ohio who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing, ensuring adherence to the Interpreter’s Code of Ethics.

Requirements:

The ideal candidates are fluent in American Sign Language and have experience working in community or educational settings as the job requires. Skills required include:

• Educational background and training as a professional sign language interpreter.
• Work experience in a professional environment as a sign language interpreter with an interpreting agency, school or as an independent contractor.
• Excellent communication skills along with the ability to work in a variety of settings with diverse communication needs and preferences.
• Must have reliable transportation for assignments in the following counties:
  • Cuyahoga
  • Lorain
  • Medina
  • Erie
  • Huron
  • Lake
  • Sandusky
  • Geauga
  • Other Northern Ohio counties
