Law Firm Carolinas is seeking a full-time attorney to join its community association (HOA and condominium) practice in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Community association law is a broad general counsel practice involving real estate, contracts, corporate governance, litigation, collections, and dispute resolution. The attorney will advise homeowner and condominium association boards and community managers on a wide range of legal and practical issues.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Advising association boards and managers on governance, enforcement, contracts, meetings, and day-to-day legal questions.
  • Drafting and amending declarations, Bylaws, rules, resolutions, and other governing documents.
  • Helping clients resolve covenant, architectural, maintenance, and neighborhood disputes.
  • Handling assessment collection matters, including court proceedings.
  • Assisting with litigation and other real estate-related matters.
  • Participating in client education and industry programs as experience develops.

The position offers substantial training and mentoring, meaningful client contact, and the opportunity to develop a statewide practice from the firm’s Wilmington office.   • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or eligible for prompt admission.
  • Strong legal research, writing, communication, and judgment.
  • Ability to provide clear and practical advice, manage deadlines, and work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Interest in real estate, contracts, corporate governance, litigation, dispute resolution, or general client counseling.

Prior experience in community association law is preferred but not required. Candidates with experience in real estate, litigation, business law, local government, nonprofit law, or related areas are encouraged to apply. Recent graduates with strong credentials will also be considered.
