Analyst - Business Development (Litigation) Location New York Job Code 1390 # of openings 1

Under the supervision of a Business Development Manager, the Business Development Analyst (Litigation), based in the Firm’s New York office, works proactively with partners in the Litigation Group and colleagues in Business Development, Communications, Events and other teams across the Firm to generate business and to expand Firm, practice and lawyer profiles. The role offers significant exposure to high-profile litigation matters, senior partners and strategic business development initiatives.

The role requires excellent judgment, strong writing and analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple partner-facing projects in a high-performance environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • · Under the supervision of a Business Development Manager:
  • o Prepare pitches, responses to RFPs and marketing materials that effectively communicate the Firm’s relevant experience and strengths.
  • o Provide support and help coordinate business development initiatives for partners, including efforts to generate new business, strengthen client relationships and increase visibility.
  • o Research and help identify new business opportunities and strategic sponsor ships tailored to business development goals.
  • · Draft submissions for Chambers USA and other legal directories, including managing deadlines, incorporating partner feedback and managing reference collection.
  • · Monitor news and developments relating to the Firm’s Litigation practices. Monitor news and developments relating to the Firm’s Litigation practices.
  • · Ensure timely updating of all marketing materials, including practice pages and bios, with new matter descriptions, achievements and other relevant information.
  • · Ensure consistent record-keeping of all Firm matters and partner BD activity, including client outreach, pitches, meetings and trainings in the Firm’s CRM and experience management systems.
  • · Handle conference sponsorship requests.
  • · Conduct research on companies and industries, including litigation exposure and counsel.
  • · Collaborate with colleagues across the following teams:
  • o Communications:
    Coordinate on identifying and pursuing key media, PR, awards and legal directory opportunities, and ensure appropriate promotion of matter wins, awards and rankings and BD initiatives on Firm and external channels.
  • o Events:
    Coordinate on planning and execution of client and Firm events.
  • o Competitive Intelligence:
    Leverage research that supports practice positioning and client development.
  • o Creative Services:
    Produce polished materials that align with the Firm’s branding.

In addition, all employees must adhere to responsibilities related to maintaining Firm and client information. This includes complying with the Firm’s information security policies, protecting Firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • · Prior business development experience supporting litigation practices in a top-tier U.S. law firm preferred.
  • · Excellent writing/editing, proofreading, grammar and research skills (a writing and editing test is required).
  • · Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • · The ability to handle time-sensitive requests from multiple lawyers while generating quality work product in a fast-paced environment.
  • · An understanding of the litigation lifecycle, terminology, courts and regulators.
