Blattner is expanding our energy construction leadership into gas power generation. This is a unique opportunity to help build this new business from the ground up, backed by a company with decades of proven success in the energy sector. This position will help us shape the processes and standards that carry this business forward to deliver end-to-end hybrid energy solutions.

The Site Inventory Specialist collaborates with the Project Team to support all inventory activities associated with equipment, incorporated material, consumables, tools & rigging, and other construction supplies. Works with Trade Superintendents, Field Construction Coordinators, and the Supply Chain Dept. to learn and understand the inventory concerns of multiple work disciplines and helps ensure that all inventory materials are ordered or transferred, properly received, and stored, and made available for installation to support the construction schedule.

DAY IN THE LIFE

Gains and maintains a comprehensive understanding of Blattner Energy’s Supply Chain dept. and inventory management processes. Serves as primary liaison between the field and the Avon Supply Chain dept. regarding inventory matters. Provides training to the site team regarding purchasing and inventory management processes. Initiates and tracks material orders through JDE, DSI, Supplier Share Points, transportation company websites, etc. Updates & maintains site Access documents.

Generates and processes field and purchase requisitions, inventory receiving reports, Review site storage location maps and inventory lists developed by the Trade Superintendent’s, delivery exception reports (OS&Ds, NCRs), and warranty claims. Coordinates and schedules inventory deliveries with truck drivers and transportation companies; and communicates and coordinates deliveries with offload crews. Provides guidance to offload crews regarding procedures for inventory receipt inspection, and the collection of flow of shipping documentation.

Works in conjunction with Trade Superintendents to maintain accurate inventory of all incorporated materials. Schedules weekly meetings with Trade Superintendents to audit materials received and materials installed as it relates to the material management inventory plans and tracking sheets. Monitors Equipment Status Reports and works with project team and Avon Supply Chain dept. to mitigate concerns due to schedule deviations of critical path items and contributes appropriate aspects of inventory status to Plan of the Day.

Follows appropriate protocols for communication with suppliers and owners, with guidance from Avon Supply Chain dept. Supports DOT Coordinator as requested. Assists in the compilation of documentation associated with incorporated material as required by the owner (receiving logs, mill certs, test reports, cut sheets, etc.) for eventual turnover in the Job Book. Assists with final inventory transfers and jobsite closeout activities.

Generates and distributes additional inventory reports and documentation as requested by project team members to support the payment of supplier invoices. Conducts physical inventories when required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • Two-year related degree; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Previous industrial or commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and material management processes.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of ERP Systems.
  • Proficient in Accounting (math and record-keeping).
  • Ability to give presentations to groups of up to 10 people.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Effective communication (oral & written), motivation, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
  • Site Inventory Specialists are expected to re-locate to the project site for the duration of each construction project they are assigned to.
