Position: Supply Planner/ Material Planner

Role Summary

MANN+HUMMEL - Gastonia, NC

The Supply Planner/ Material Planner will play a critical role in optimizing our supply chain processes, ensuring timely delivery of products, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet customer demands efficiently. This role will drive alignment across SIOP processes, manage supplier relationships and foster collaboration between sales and logistics.

Main Tasks
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive material plans based on demand forecasts and Co-ordinate with internal and External suppliers that align with material availability and actual customer demand.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze demand forecasts, market trends, and customer requirements to develop accurate demand forecasts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular analysis to optimize inventory turnover, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Work closely with production teams to develop production schedules that align with demand forecasts and inventory targets while maximizing production efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components, resolve any supply issues, and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance.
  • Coordinate with logistics and distribution teams to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers while minimizing transportation costs and optimizing delivery routes.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and develop strategies to mitigate disruptions, such as alternative sourcing options, safety stock levels, and contingency plans.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and optimize overall performance.
  • Utilize supply chain management tools and systems to gather and analyze data, generate insightful reports, and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
Your Profile

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2+ years of proven experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, or related roles within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Required Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems, inventory management, order management and material planning.
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Strong communication for effective collaboration with teams and suppliers.
  • Problem-solving abilities to mitigate supply chain risks and optimize processes.
  • Relationship management skills for fostering positive collaborations.
  • Adaptability to changing business needs and multiple project management.
Preferred

Skills:
  • Experience with SAP ERP system - MM, PP and WM modules.
  • Advanced data analysis and modeling skills beyond Excel such as Power BI.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the automotive or industrial sector.
  • Certification or training in supply chain management or related fields.
  • Familiarity with lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or other process improvement frameworks.
