Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for developing, leading, and optimizing all supply chain functions within a manufacturing facility serving the automotive industry. This role oversees procurement, production planning, inventory control, logistics, warehousing, supplier management, and customer delivery performance to ensure seamless operations, uninterrupted production, and on-time customer fulfillment.

The Supply Chain Manager drives operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, strategic cost reduction programs, and effective supply chain risk management. This position is accountable for maintaining compliance with automotive industry standards, strengthening supplier performance, and aligning supply chain strategies with business objectives to support growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, improve service levels, and deliver world-class supply chain performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and optimize all supply chain functions, including procurement, planning, inventory control, customer service, logistics, and warehousing, to support business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies that ensure efficient operations, on-time delivery, and strong supplier and customer performance.
  • Oversee S&OP, demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory management to maintain material availability and support uninterrupted production.
  • Manage supplier sourcing, performance, negotiations, and risk mitigation to ensure a reliable, cost-effective supply base.
  • Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, transportation strategies, and third-party logistics providers while supporting JIT/JIS delivery requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and automotive industry standards, including support for new product launches and customer communications.
  • Drive continuous improvement, Lean initiatives, cost reduction programs, process optimization, and supply chain digitalization efforts.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve delivery performance, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree and/or professional certifications (APICS CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, Lean Six Sigma) preferred.

Experience

  • 7+ years of progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Experience supporting automotive manufacturing operations, preferably Tier 1 or Tier 2 suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of JIT, JIS, Kanban, MRP, ERP systems, and demand planning processes.
  • Experience with customer portals and automotive supply chain requirements.

Technical Skills

  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, QAD, Plex, Epicor, or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and supply chain analytics.
  • Inventory management and forecasting tools.
  • Logistics and transportation management systems.
  • Understanding of automotive quality systems and standards.
