The Wash Bay Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily wash bay operations and providing leadership and direction to Wash Bay employees. This position coordinates workflow, supervises cleaning and sanitation activities, supports routine truck and trailer maintenance, and helps ensure company equipment is clean, safe, properly maintained, and ready for operation.
Schedule: This position requires flexibility. Work hours will vary depending on operational needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Job FunctionsThe essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Lead, schedule, train, and provide daily direction to Wash Bay employees.
- Coordinate daily workflow and prioritize trucks and trailers based on operational needs.
- Oversee the washing, cleaning, and sanitation of company trucks and trailers.
- Supervise and assist with routine truck and trailer maintenance, including oil changes, tires, fluids, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting.
- Monitor equipment condition and communicate repair or maintenance needs.
- Maintain responsibility for employee timekeeping, payroll review, scheduling, and attendance for the Wash Bay team.
- Coach employees and maintain accountability for attendance, performance, quality, and safety.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure employees follow company safety, sanitation, and biosecurity procedures.
- Work alongside the team when needed to get the job done.
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members to keep daily operations running smoothly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Dependable, self-directed, and comfortable providing direction and holding employees accountable.
- Mechanically inclined with basic truck or equipment maintenance knowledge preferred.
- Comfortable working around trucks, trailers, tools, pressure washers, and cleaning equipment.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members while also performing assigned tasks independently.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work in wet, outdoor, hot, cold, and sometimes dirty environments.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- $18–$22 per hour , based on experience and qualifications.
