Overview
Auburn University Facilities Management is seeking dedicated and dependable candidates for a Custodian position. Our custodians are vital members of our team, playing an important role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, employees, and visitors across campus.
In this role, you will take pride in maintaining the appearance and functionality of university facilities by performing a variety of cleaning tasks, including mopping and waxing floors, washing windows, dusting, and managing trash disposal to ensure spaces are in excellent condition for daily activities. You will also be responsible for maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies, assisting with building inspections to identify custodial needs, and supporting campus events by helping arrange tables and chairs as needed.

Responsibilities- Cleans University buildings (restrooms, classrooms, and common areas) to ensure that facilities are in suitable condition for activities, which may include (but not limited to) sweeping and mopping floors, washing windows, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and trash disposal.
- Maintains equipment and supplies in order to complete tasks.
- Assist with waste disposal and recycling efforts.
- Report on any maintenance and/or safety issues.
- Operate and ensure proper functioning of cleaning and floor equipment.
- Transports custodial supplies and equipment to and from storage and work areas.
- Assists in on-the-job training of new staff on routine procedures.
Level I:
- Ability to read and write.
Level II:
- Ability to read and write and 2 years of experience in custodial floor care techniques.

EXPERIENCE:
Yes, When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
