Utility T&D Construction Manager

Utility T&D Construction Manager overseeing the construction, maintenance, repair, and daily operations of electrical transmission lines, distribution systems, and substations. Act as a liaison between field crews, subcontractors, and upper management, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

• Field Operations Supervision: Directs the day-to-day activities of overhead and underground line crews, substations, and vegetation management, including 24/7/365 emergency, restoration, and storm response.
• Project Management & Scheduling: Plans and coordinates construction activities, manages subcontractor performance, and monitors project milestones.
• Safety Compliance: Enforces strict compliance with OSHA, NESC, and company-specific safety policies, often conducting field audits and safety training.
• Technical Oversight: Interprets blueprints, engineering drawings, and P& (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) schematics to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Budgeting & Material Management: Assists in developing annual operating budgets, authorizes purchase requisitions, and manages inventory.
• Quality Assurance: Witnesses equipment testing, verifies material specifications, and develops punch lists for completed work.

• Experience: Typically 6–10+ years in electrical utility operations, with significant experience in construction, maintenance, and crew supervision.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Certifications: OSHA Certification
• Leadership: Strong ability to lead, mentor, and discipline diverse teams of crews and contractors.
