For more than 40 years, Catholic Charities CCCYO Transportation has been providing school bus services to a variety of public, private and parochial schools as well as numerous youth-serving organizations. Our commitment to the care and safety of children is the cornerstone of our foundation. Under the direction of the Associate Deputy Director of Social Enterprises, the Program Director plans, directs, manages and oversees the activities and operations of CCCYO Transportation, as well as develop and manage the workforce development programs of Catholic Charities.

This includes student transportation and the maintenance of the department's fleet. The Program Director will lead initiatives to prepare individuals for employment, coordinate training programs, and align workforce strategies with community and different industry needs. This is an executive level position with the full operational responsibility of CCCYO Transportation and workforce development programs.

Leadership & Administration
  • Provide strategic leadership, planning, implementation, and evaluation of CCCYO Transportation operations and workforce development programs to meet current and future organizational needs while ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing student transportation and fleet maintenance.
  • Establish and implement departmental goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards that support organizational priorities, operational excellence, safety, and workforce development outcomes.
  • Assess staffing needs and organizational structure to ensure efficient and effective delivery of transportation and workforce development services.
  • Recruit, supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate department managers, supervisors, administrative staff, and operational personnel to promote employee engagement, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational efficiency, employee workloads, administrative systems, reporting structures, and service outcomes; identify and implement process improvements to enhance performance and service quality.
  • Plan, facilitate, and lead departmental meetings, operational reviews, and team-building activities that promote communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with People & Culture, Finance, Technology Services, regulatory agencies, insurance carriers, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Transportation Operations
  • Direct all transportation operations, including student transportation services, dispatch functions, fleet maintenance, vehicle repair operations, and emergency and accident response activities.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation services while maintaining compliance with all applicable transportation, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee fleet utilization, preventive maintenance programs, vehicle availability, repair operations, asset management, vehicle replacement planning, and operational cost-control initiatives.
  • Supervise transportation and automotive repair shop operations and coordinate maintenance schedules to maximize fleet readiness and service continuity.
  • Respond to and resolve complex customer, parent, community, and stakeholder concerns, including issues related to transportation services, safety, and student conduct.
  • Maintain or obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required school bus endorsements and certifications necessary to support operational needs.
Workforce Development
  • Develop and execute workforce development strategies aligned with educational, industry, and community priorities to prepare students and job seekers for postsecondary education and careers within the commercial driving and transportation industries.
  • Establish and expand career pathways, work-based learning opportunities, internships, apprenticeships, industry-recognized certifications, and employer partnerships that address workforce and labor market demands.
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with businesses, educational institutions, workforce development organizations, government agencies, economic development partners, and industry associations to strengthen workforce initiatives and employment opportunities.
  • Lead and coordinate professional development initiatives that enhance staff capacity in career readiness, workforce trends, student success, and transportation industry best practices.
