Position: Admissions Application Evaluator (VTS)
Location: Northern

The Application Evaluator team is responsible for the holistic assessment of applicants’ materials. This position is a seasonal, part-time role with hours dependent on application flow. The role begins with training in September, and application evaluation until May 2027. While seasonal application evaluators do not need to be in the Nashville area, they must be available for periodic daytime meetings in the Central Standard Time Zone.

This is an hourly position, and the candidate must keep accurate time records.

The Owen Graduate School of Management (OGSM) is a professional school at Vanderbilt University,locatedin Nashville, Tennessee, focused on graduate-level business education. The Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) unit is a dedicated team withinOGSMfocused onoptimizingthe recruitment,selection, aiding, onboarding, and enrollment of students throughout their academic journey. The SEM unit employs data-driven strategies that align enrollment practices with OGSM’s reputational ambitions, revenue goals, and academic mission.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate applicant candidacy through application review in relation to evaluation criteria.
  • Write decision recommendations with clear rationales.
  • Orally present application review to team of individuals including senior leadership.
  • Complete application evaluations accurately and in a timely manner following a pre-determined applicant flow.
  • Understand and maintain strict confidentiality of admissions process and application data.
  • Assist with special projects related to the evaluation and selection process. These projects could include transcript review, benchmarking or strategic research projects.
  • Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Relationships

This roledoes notentail direct supervisory responsibilities for staff members. This role reports directly to theSenior

Director of Evaluation and Selection.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’sdegreerequired;advanced degree preferred.
  • At least three years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and maintain strict confidentiality of admissions process and application data.
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new CRM system.
  • Commitment to work an average of 15 hours a week (up to 25 hours a week) September through April. Hours dependent on application flow and volume and can occur outside of standard business hours. Expectation to meet weekly goals and deadlines.
