Description

Position Function

The Business Manager is responsible for developing, launching, and overseeing the operational infrastructure of ACH Clinic’s Medicaid-funded behavioral health services under the direction of agency leadership. This position will lead the business operations of the clinic, financially sustainable growth, ensuring service delivery complies with Medicaid requirements, and alignment with ACH’s mission and programs. The Business Manager will collaborate closely with agency leadership, Program Directors, Clinical Managers, and administrative teams to establish workflows, manage resources, monitor performance, and identify opportunities to expand services to meet the needs of children and families in the community.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelors degree in business administration, healthcare administration, nonprofit or service-based business operations required.

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, or service-based business operations. Experience developing or scaling programs, services, or business operations and managing employees and developing workforce expectations. Understanding of Medicaid behavioral health services, billing, credentialing, and operational requirements. Demonstrated ability to develop systems, manage projects, analyze performance data, and implement improvements.

Preferred Requirements
  • Clinical methodologies preferred. Knowledge and understanding of Evidence-based practices. General knowledge of counseling modalities and techniques.
  • Experience launching a new program, clinic, or service line
  • Experience managing therapists, counselors, or behavioral health professionals.
  • Experience working with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
  • Knowledge of community behavioral health needs and child-serving systems.
Essential Functions

Clinic Operations & Development:

  • Lead the operational launch and ongoing management of ACH Clinic services under direction of ACH leadership.
  • Develop and implement clinic workflows, systems, and processes necessary for effective Medicaid service delivery.
  • Establish operational standards, workforce expectations, and procedures to support clinic growth.
  • Identify and address start-up challenges while integrating clinic operations with existing ACH programs.
  • Develop strategies to improve efficiency, sustainability, and service capacity.

Workforce Management & Supervision:

  • Assign therapists to cases based on client needs, availability, and operational priorities.
  • Provide administrative supervision and oversight of therapist activities and productivity (non-clinical supervision).
  • Establish expectations related to documentation, productivity, scheduling, and service delivery.
  • Monitor workforce capacity and make adjustments based on demand and performance.
  • Provide coaching, support, and accountability to assigned staff.

Business Development & Performance Management:

  • Develop and monitor clinic budgets, operational plans, and resource needs.
  • Track key performance indicators and adjust operational strategies as needed.
  • Evaluate financial and operational performance to support sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities for growth based on community needs, Medicaid trends, MCO priorities, and agency goals.
  • Build relationships with internal and external partners to support clinic expansion.

Collaboration & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with Program Directors, Clinical Managers, Finance, Compliance, and other departments.
  • Ensure clinic operations align with Medicaid requirements, ACH policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Oversee credentialing, billing, documentation, and compliance processes in partnership with appropriate departments.
