POSITION SUMMARYThe District Manager (DM) leads the overall culture, operations, and success of retail store locations within an assigned fleet. As an elevated field leader, the DM directly leads Store Managers and owns the team and business results for the fleet, translating brand strategy into consistent, premium in-store execution. This role balances strong commercial acumen with a genuine passion for coaching and developing people, and serves as the key link between store-level teams and corporate functions suchas HR, Loss Prevention, and Retail Leadership.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own sales, profitability, and KPI performance across all stores in the fleet; analyze wins and opportunities to enable quick, informed decisions.
- Build the fleets annual budget and sales forecast alongside Retail Leadership, then track results week to week and adjust plans as the business moves.
- Own the success of each stores numbers, reviewing performance on a consistent schedule and turning what you find into clear action plans that grow sales and protect profit.
- Provide fleet performance updates to the Retail Director and Head of Retail Leadership on a regular cadence, flagging risks and opportunities early.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop Store Managers; build bench strength and succession plans across the fleet.
- Conduct regular store visits to coach Store Managers on leadership, operations, and merchandising execution, resolving people challenges with appropriate urgency.
- Set clear performance expectations, deliver timely feedback, and manage performance issues fairlyand consistently, in partnership with HR and Talent Acquisition.
- Drive people plans across the fleet to build a high-performing, engaged, and inclusive team culture, and deliver recognition and rewards for strong store performance.
- Lead cross-functional, diverse teams and build strong talent pipelines by identifying future Store Manager and District Manager candidates.
- Ensure all stores comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable employment and safety regulations.
- Partner with Loss Prevention on shrink, safety, and compliance issues, and step in on serious customer complaints to reach a fair resolution that keeps the brand's reputation intact.
- Lead a regular cadence of store audits covering operational compliance, presentation, and service,turning findings into clear, trackable improvement plans.
- Prepare stores ahead of major selling seasons — aligning training, staffing, product flow, and in-store presentation so the fleet is ready to perform when it matters most.
- Oversee execution of new store openings, remodels, and closures within the fleet as needed.
- Ensure consistent execution of visual merchandising directives, seasonal resets, and brand presentation standards across the fleet.
- Use store-level data and local market insight to spot merchandising and layout improvements, weighing the sales impact of each change before it's made.
- Partner with the Visual Merchandising and Brand teams to lead in-store marketing execution and activations, ensuring a consistent, elevated presentation of women's fashion trends across the fleet.
