Environment Manager – JLL

The Critical Environment Manager provides direct leadership and operational oversight for mission‑critical engineering operations at an assigned site or cluster of sites within the Wells Fargo portfolio. This role ensures the delivery of high‑quality engineering services for data centers and other critical infrastructure, driving operational excellence with a focus on maximum uptime and reliability. The position requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise in critical systems, and a commitment to maintaining stringent 24/7/365 operational standards.

You will be the on‑site leader responsible for implementing best practices, managing a skilled engineering team, and ensuring the seamless performance of essential facility systems.

What your day‑to‑day will look like:
  • Provide direct leadership and operational direction to the on‑site critical environment engineering team, ensuring alignment with JLL standards and 24/7/365 uptime requirements.
  • Serve as the primary on‑site point of contact for clients regarding engineering services, operational issues, and technical solutions, maintaining strong daily working relationships.
  • Manage and optimize day‑to‑day critical facility operations, including the performance of UPS systems, emergency generators, precision cooling, and building automation systems.
  • Oversee comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance programs, including scheduling and supervising major maintenance activities, system testing, and vendor services.
  • Lead the site's change control process, preparing and submitting change requests, detailed Method of Procedures (MOPs), and risk assessments through Service Now.
  • Direct the site response to technical emergencies and critical incidents, coordinating resources to restore operations safely and efficiently while leading root cause analysis efforts.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as uptime metrics, PUE, and maintenance completion rates, using CMMS (Corrigo) and DCIM platforms to drive data‑driven decisions.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in critical environment operations;
    Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in critical environment engineering, data center operations, or mission‑critical facilities management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience managing critical environment engineering teams in a 24/7/365 operational setting.
  • Proven hands‑on experience in Tier III/IV mission‑critical facility environments, with data center operations experience strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of critical building systems, including UPS, emergency power generation, N+1/2N redundancy, precision HVAC, electrical distribution, and fire suppression systems.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems (Corrigo experience preferred), change management platforms like Service Now, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to other regional sites as needed (up to 25%).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS), or Certified Facility Manager (CFM).
  • Experience with Wells Fargo or other financial services clients operating mission‑critical infrastructure.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience with sustainability
