About the Finance Team:
The Finance team supports LEDC’s mission by ensuring strong financial stewardship, accountability, and compliance across the organization. The team manages financial reporting, budgeting, grant and loan accounting, audits, and internal controls to support informed decision-making and responsible use of resources.

Working collaboratively across departments, the Finance team plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity while supporting the programs and services that advance economic opportunity in the communities LEDC serves.

Position Summary:

The Director of Finance leads the day-to-day financial operations of LEDC as the organization’s senior finance leader. This role is accountable for the full scope of accounting, reporting, compliance, budgeting, and financial systems management. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Finance ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and continuity of core Finance functions, while the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer retain responsibility for overall organizational strategy, Board relations, and major financial decisions.

The Director of Finance manages and develops the Finance team, serving as the team’s primary day-to-day leader, and partners closely with the COO, the CEO, program teams, and organizational leadership to support responsible stewardship of resources and mission-aligned decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, budgets, and financial reports in compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
  • Partner with the COO and Chief Executive Officer to deliver timely, accurate financial data and analysis to support organizational decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance across the organization and provide regular financial analysis and reporting to the COO and Chief Executive Officer for use with the Board of Directors, funders, and other stakeholders.
Accounting Operations & Internal Controls
  • Oversee core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger operations.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions, reconciliations, and maintenance of financial records.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee financial systems and accounting infrastructure to ensure data integrity, security, and efficient workflows.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
  • Lead development of the organization’s annual budget, including cash flow and budget projections, in collaboration with the COO and Chief Executive Officer.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and financial performance, partnering with department leaders to address variances and support financial targets.
