PositionDescription:
(primary functions)
Supervises all financial affairs, accounting, and reports of Coahoma Community College; supervises all areas assigned by the President
- CPA License and 5 years of executive level progressive financial management experience
- Master's degree in accounting; accounting experience required; excellent supervisory and management skills
- Acts as purchasing agent in following the laws of Mississippi and college policies
- Directs investment of funds
- Cooperates and assists in the management of the physical plant
- Determines priorities and implements programs to achieve high productivity levelsand to provide management information
- Directs and manages all personnel in the Business Office and related areas
- Maintains payroll and files for all employees
- Supervises auxiliary enterprises as assigned by the President
- Institutes and maintains an inventory of all college property and equipment
- Directs and carries out internal audits to meet and maintain proper accounting ofall college finances and property
- Develops systems and procedures to meet and maintain all current business requirements in the most efficient way possible
- Prepares the proposed budget, working with the deans, directors and other administrative staff or personnel; assists the President in presenting the budgets to the Board of Trustees for approval
- Monitors and makes reports to aid divisions in staying within their budgets
- Prepares financial reports as required; apprises the President and Board of Trustees of the financial condition of the college
- Follows the accounting manual for Mississippi Junior Colleges MCPA and NACLTBO procedure sand modifies accounting Systems to comply with changes
- Performs other duties as assigned by the President
