Regional Director of Operations Skilled Nursing - Local Travel Required

Bane Care Management is seeking an experienced, results-driven Regional Director of Operations to provide operational leadership across our portfolio of skilled nursing and senior living communities in Massachusetts. For more than 60 years, Bane Care has remained a locally owned organization with a strong commitment to quality care, our employees, and the communities we serve. Today, we operate 9 Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Facilities and 2 Assisted Living Communities across Greater Boston, the North Shore, South Shore, and Berkshires.

This is a highly visible leadership position for an experienced long-term care operator who knows how to drive census, manage financial performance, develop strong administrators, and maintain high standards for quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to facility Administrators and leadership teams.

  • Drive census growth and occupancy by partnering with facility leadership, admissions, marketing, and clinical teams to identify opportunities and strengthen referral relationships.

  • Monitor census, admissions, payer mix, labor, staffing, expenses, and other key operational metrics.

  • Manage facility budgets and financial performance
    , identifying opportunities to improve revenue, control expenses, and achieve operating goals.

  • Review monthly financial results and partner with leadership teams to develop corrective action plans when performance is below target.

  • Support Administrators in developing and executing facility-specific operational and census growth strategies.

  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and effective labor management while maintaining quality resident care.

  • Maintain strong standards for regulatory compliance, survey readiness, quality outcomes, and resident satisfaction.

  • Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions that improve performance and efficiency.

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop facility leaders while creating a culture of accountability and collaboration.

  • Partner with clinical, finance, HR, recruitment, marketing, and other corporate departments to support facility needs.

  • Evaluate capital needs, operational investments, and resource allocation.

  • Track key performance indicators and provide regular performance updates and recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership.

  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices affecting skilled nursing and senior living operations.

Requirements:
  • Current Massachusetts Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) required.

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in skilled nursing, assisted living, or senior care.

  • Multi-site or regional operational experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, labor, census, occupancy, and overall facility performance
    .

  • Strong understanding of skilled nursing operations, reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and survey readiness.

  • Proven ability to coach and hold facility leadership teams accountable for results.

  • Strong analytical, financial, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Massachusetts.

  • Flexibility to provide leadership and support outside traditional business hours when necessary.
