Job Description:

Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Director of Fiscal Operations in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The Director of Fiscal Operations serves as a key advisor to the Chief Financial Officer and supports Pennington Biomedical's overall financial management.  The Director provides leadership and supervision to fiscal operations staff and oversees post-award financial administration, financial transactions, budget management, financial reporting, and financial projections.

*** Major Responsibilities
**** Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Coordinate all fiscal year-end activities.
* Develop and maintain fiscal policies and standard operating procedures for the department and the Center; review and approve financial transactions in the role of Central Company Accountant.
* Ensure compliance with applicable governmental accounting regulations and financial reporting requirements.
* Coordinate financial and compliance audits and serve as the primary liaison for audit activities.
* Develop appropriate accounting procedures for new economic ventures and public-private partnerships.
* Provide oversight of procurement, internal financial reporting and projections, travel, wage and time submission processes, and post-award financial administration for sponsored agreements.
* Manage ERP system security access for Center employees.
* Provide leadership, supervision, and performance oversight for a team of nine employees.  
*** Required Qualifications
**** Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
* Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in fiscal operations, accounting, financial management, or a related area.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage professional staff.
* Ability to establish and maintain the trust and confidence of research scientists, administrators, and staff.
