Working as part of a centralized communications team in the College of Engineering, this role manages a team of creative specialists who support the marketing and communications for multiple large engineering departments, including Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science. This role ensures project management and resource utilization to provide authentic storytelling and both internal and external communications, highlighting student success, groundbreaking research and a direct impact on the state and country.
This position ensures the success of the creative talents on their team, as well as working closely with Engineering Communications leadership to support needs college-wide and with campus partners in a collaborative and innovative environment.

The Communications Manager oversees marketing and communications staff that primarily supports four individual academic departments in the College of Engineering, in addition to specialist support needs (including videography, writing, digital media and social media management) across the college.

This position ensures consistent project management and resource sharing within the scope of the assigned departments, in addition to prioritization of requests and needs—ensuring consistent service to the academic departments, while ensuring progress on strategic goals set by Engineering Communications and Dean. This role is also expected to support high-touch content creation and event communication needs.
