OCC Manager

The Operations Command Center Manager is responsible for leading Skyborne Airline Academy's Operations Command Center team, including dispatchers, schedulers, and administrative personnel. This role oversees the day-to-day coordination of flight operations, ensuring flights depart as scheduled while proactively identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks.

The Manager provides leadership, coaching, and operational guidance to the team, supports new trainees in developing sound go/no-go decision-making, and works closely with department leaders to ensure safe, efficient, and effective flight operations.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can make timely decisions, communicate effectively, maintain accountability, and build a positive culture in a fast-paced aviation environment.

• Lead and manage the Operations Command Center team, including dispatchers, schedulers, and administrative personnel.
• Monitor daily flight operations and work to ensure flights depart on time and operational objectives are met.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks involving aircraft, instructors, trainees, weather, maintenance, scheduling, and other constraints.
• Provide guidance and support to team members and trainees when making operational go/no-go decisions.
• Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance, communication, and adherence to procedures.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to build operational knowledge and leadership capability.
• Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Flight Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Training, Student Services, and other department leaders to resolve operational challenges.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex or time-sensitive operational issues.
• Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, and on-time performance.
• Support the development and implementation of operational procedures and process improvements.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development.

• Private Pilot Certificate required.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience required.
• Aviation operations, flight training, dispatch, scheduling, or related aviation experience.
• Strong understanding of aviation operations and safety practices.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and remain composed in a fast-paced operational environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in a flight training, airline, or aviation operations environment.
• Experience leading or developing operational teams.
• Experience with flight scheduling, dispatch, resource coordination, or an operations control center.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations and aviation operational standards.

• Salary $65,000-$70,000 annually
