This leadership transition marks a period of intentional growth and long-term stability for the organization. As our founding Program Director transitions into a new strategic role within CTSP at the end of the year, the incoming leader will benefit from a seamless onboarding process, deep historical continuity, and direct collaborative support to ensure sustained project impact.
SummaryThe CTSP Program Director designs, leads, expands, and evaluates the Child Trafficking Solutions Project across Alabama. This leadership role oversees programmatic operations, grant outcomes, volunteer networks, and multidisciplinary steering committees to build statewide capacity for preventing, recognizing, and responding to child trafficking.
Minimum Education and Work ExperienceMaster’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, or Criminal Justice preferred. Extensive, proven experience in human trafficking prevention/intervention may substitute for a Master’s degree. Prior work in victim services, juvenile justice, law enforcement, or community organizing is highly recommended.
Required Licenses/CertificationsLicensed or license eligible, if applicable to degree. Valid Alabama driver license and auto insurance minimum liability 100/300.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities- Strategic Planning:
Expanding programs, outreach models, and community networks. - Grant Management:
Tracking funds and meeting grant goals. - Curriculum Design:
Building and integrating best practice training modalities for diverse audiences. - Public Speaking:
Presenting at conferences, training, high-level task forces and the public. - Team Leadership:
Recruiting, managing, mentoring, and evaluating staff, service providers, and volunteers. - Anti-Trafficking Expertise:
Strong grasp of public policy, legislation, and emerging trends in child exploitation. - Trauma-Informed Practices:
How trauma and trauma-informed response affect survivors and services. - Tech Literacy:
Proficient with communication and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Canva, Constant Contact, online apps). - Relationship Building:
Connecting with community stakeholders, public and private sector agencies. - Adaptability:
Adjusting training and program models for different audiences and communities. - People Management:
Experience guiding diverse professional teams, contractors, and volunteers. - Cultural Competence:
Demonstrated proficiency working with diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
Bi-annual TB skin test/medical report; annual background check; and DHR Mandatory Reporting training.
List any physical requirementsRegular travel across Alabama for training events, task force meetings, and community engagement. Light lifting (e.g., training materials, banners) may occasionally be required.
