Responsibilities
- Receive requests from the Art Department to determine substrate and OPV.
- Check the database to see if a matching print formula exists or formulate and check against the X-rite Database (all matches must be under a DE of
1). - If the color has not been matched previously, pull color from Pantone Live and match.
- Match to existing color matches, many of which are old Sun formulas and need to be rematched.
- Save samples for future reference.
- Once the color is matched, update the formula database.
- Assign a new number if the color has never been matched before.
- Enter the formula and LAB information for reference.
- Roll out 3 sheets of new color on the proper substrate for the Art Department, listing PMS number and new formula number on rollouts.
- Prepare and send out rollouts to the Art Department within 3 days for match and return.
- Send out the formula database to all locations once a month to update new formulations.
- Work on color matching for various projects as needed.
- At least 1 year of water-based ink mixing/color matching experience.
- Experience in toning inks and flexo printing.
- Color formulation and matching experience.
- Experience working with water-based inks.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Zoom, and email.
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift and fill in other shifts when needed.
- Good work ethic and goal-oriented.
