Description
Alliance Water Resources is seeking a Utility Worker to work at our Martin County Sewer Division in Inez, KY.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm;
Evening & Weekend Availability
Essential Functions
- General
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in the daily operation and maintenance of the wastewater plant and sludge disposal in compliance with established procedures, standards, and federal, state, and local laws - Inspects and/or monitors pumps, charts, gauges, wells, tanks and meters daily
- Adds and adjusts chemicals in accordance with prescribed standards; collects and/or assists in the collection of samples
- Prepares and maintains accurate reports/records; forwards water samples and reports as required
- Under direction of Supervisor, performs servicing requirements to plant and equipment including preventive maintenance
- Make minor repairs and adjustments to plant and equipment and forwards requests for major repairs to supervisor
- Assists in maintaining adequate inventory of spare parts, chemicals, equipment, and tools
- Assists in maintaining clean and neat plant and grounds
- Participates in continuing education program to obtain and maintain licenses
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License and the ability to maintain good standing
- Desired Certification- KY Wastewater Treatment Class II
- Basic Excel & Computer aptitude with strong organizational skills.
- Strong Math & Science skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and precautions related to water and wastewater operations
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, job orders, etc.; complete forms and write notices.
- Perform outside work in extreme weather conditions and be comfortable with exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, and/or potentially hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to manipulate, lift, carry, maneuver, and control small objects and equipment up to 100 lbs.
