The Maintenance Technician position is an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday, working in our state of the art, climate-controlled facility, with the opportunity for voluntary overtime and, at times, may require overtime beyond the normal workday. As a Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will support automated manufacturing equipment at our Lebanon, KY facility. This role is critical to maintaining uptime, troubleshooting complex electrical and control issues, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
JobDuties Include:
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled production equipment
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and controls failures during live production
- Troubleshoot PLC I/O, logic, communications, and field devices
- Perform minor PLC and HMI modifications as needed
- Work with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLC platforms
- Troubleshoot VFDs, servos, sensors, safety circuits, and motor controls
- Interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
- Work closely with production, engineering, and management teams
- Install new equipment according to manufacturer specifications and management requirements.
- Design, implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment and tools.
- Install, maintain, repair, adjust, troubleshoot, and inspect equipment and tools.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Follow all safety procedures including LOTO and plant safety standards
- 3 to 6 years of industrial maintenance or similar environment performing comparable tasks as required for this position.
- 5 years of hands-on PLC experience and controls experience
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (120V–480V systems)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot PLC logic (not just monitor systems)
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and industrial controls
- Ability to use electrical diagnostic tools (multimeter, megger, etc.)
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills (pneumatics and hydraulics a plus)
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Forklift certification (or ability to become forklift certified).
- Able to work overtime as required.
- Excellent communication/comprehension skills.
- Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Automation, or Mechatronics
- Experience with industrial networks (Ether Net/IP, Device Net, Control Net)
- CMMS experience
- Food, packaging, printing, or high-speed manufacturing background
- Servo and motion control experience
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be primarily in our climate-controlled facility. The plant floor is subject to vibration and equipment noise leading to a loud environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and might also be exposed to outside conditions, tight spaces, cleaning solvents and heights. There is a moderate to high demand for tight deadlines.
This position will experience moderate interruption in workflow, starting and stopping for product changeovers.
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. While performing the duties of this job:
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, listening, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) standing and walking.
- Continuous (6 or more hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting, and grasping.
- Frequent (1 to 3 hours per day) work in a stooped position.
- Good eyesight, normal hearing.
- Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 50 lbs.
This is a full-time position. Days, nights and hours may vary depending on assigned shift and productions requirements. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle or customer volume of business.
