    6:00 am - 4:30 pm M‑Th
  • Status-FT position
  • Overtime periodically occurs
  • Work on‑site
  • Reports to the GWP Plant Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Load & unload boards from the line into carts.
  • Assist with feeding the straight‑line sawing/sander and stacking of wood.
  • Sweep or clean up the production floor when no other production help is needed.
  • Notify the Plant Manager of any supply or maintenance needs.
  • Willingness to be flexible by working under different Team Leaders and to assist in any area of production where there is a need.
  • General production could involve any of the equipment in the company.
  • Periodic overtime is possible.
Credentials, Education, and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working on a variety of milling equipment
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of safety laws and regulations
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Quality is a priority; detail‑oriented
  • Knowledge of wood and wood species
Physical Demands
  • Heavy physical demands. Must be able to stand for most of the day and easily and frequently lift and carry 25‑75 lbs. Work also requires the ability to climb, reach, pull, stoop, crawl, and bend constantly.
  • Requires the ability to stand on hard surfaces for long periods. May encounter foot and leg fatigue, backaches, and other types of muscle fatigue.
Environment and Physical Working Conditions
  • Work indoors in a manufacturing setting. Often works in hot/humid conditions and cold/damp conditions. The work tends to be repetitive and physically demanding.
  • May be exposed to harmful materials, fumes, odors, loud noise, and dangerous machinery. To avoid injury, workers must wear safety clothing, such as gloves, eye and ear protection, and safety shoes where required.
  • Most accidents can be avoided by observing proper operating procedures and safety practices.
